April 10, 2019Anyone who wants to know everything about the current form of the automaker must read this image survey. "The best brands in all classes" bluntly says what our readers think.
Another poll, how boring. Not even close! This image study contains the fuel of an entire industry. The best brands in all classes poll is a priceless treasure trove. For the eighth time, readers have shared with us what they think of the automakers. Which brands they trust, which models they love, which manufacturers are particularly innovative. On average, the readers took 36 minutes to answer the 95 questions. Wow, we are excited and thankful for the support! Their answers reflect unadulterated the current form of the most important 38 car brands in Germany. There is a big winner. For the most important sales drivers, quality, design and price / performance, Audi is currently doing the best job, according to our readers. The Ingolstadt lie with an average of 55.2 percent (across all classes and categories) just ahead of Porsche (54.6%), followed by third place Skoda (52.3%) in front of Volkswagen (51.8%) and Mazda (50, 1 %). Well, that's not boring. An overview of the favorites of the nation can be seen in the following picture gallery:
THE BEST BRANDS OF ALL CLASSES 2019
TO THE GALLERY
1st category: Quality - the good impression lasts for years
These are Germany's best
When it comes to quality, Audi enjoys a top image. The VW subsidiary wins in 50% of all classes.
When it comes to the quality of our cars, Audi has obviously done a lot right in the past. The years of pursuit of perfection, narrow joints and a crack-free interior pays off. No other manufacturer enjoys more confidence in the subject of quality than the Ingolstadt. Audi dominates this chapter in 50 percent of all vehicle categories polled. Nevertheless, the VW subsidiary receives a small damper. Ironically, in the prestigious luxury class, the S-Class of Mercedes wins - albeit with a minimal lead - against the Audi A8. In the overall result, the Stuttgart stars finish third, behind Porsche - and of course Audi.
2nd category: Design - the beautiful scorpion catches the eye
These are Germany's best
Our readers especially like the design of the importers. But beauty is not everything!
Of the three main retailers, the theme of design is certainly the hardest to grasp. Tastes are very different. After all, most of our readers are warming up for Italian design. In first place is Abarth, the performance brand of Fiat. In third place we find Alfa Romeo, who recorded three class victories. In between parks - not surprisingly - Porsche, who finds a Porsche ugly? Striking, however, that our readers especially like the design of the importers. Unfortunately, measured by their market shares, beauty is not everything.
3. Category: Price / Performance - When it comes to money, Dacia is unbeatable
These are Germany's best
Good and cheap - Dacia has earned this reputation for years.
As we all know, friendship ends with money. In this case, the too German brands. Only in seventh place can Ford break with a domestic manufacturer's phalanx of importers. At the top - as cemented - dominated Dacia for years this image class. The opinion of our readers: More car for the money offers no one. Amazing how sovereign Skoda can claim 2nd place, although the cars of the VW subsidiary are no longer bargains. Surprisingly also SsangYong, who can even win a class victory in the category price / performance with the big vans.
New front-runner: Volvo replaces Mercedes
These are Germany's best
At Volvo, the customer feels in good hands.
There has to be something in this cozy, confidence-inspiring IKEA feeling. For the Swedes, German customers seem to feel particularly well. And that does not just apply to the furniture store with the four letters. Volvo also seems to have turned in recent years on the right screws in the dealer network. After the successful model offensive, more and more Volvo dealers are gaining the trust of their customers. In any case, our readers believe that the Swedes currently provide the best customer service in the country. Volvo jumps from third place to the top, just over past last year's winner Mercedes. Third place goes to Subaru.
Toyota and Tesla have the cleanest image
These are Germany's best
Green Star: When it comes to e-mobility Tesla has a priceless good image.
The cars are rather average, the production is in a thump, and the company has not earned a penny so far - yet the image of Tesla is supernatural. The Stromer by Elon Musk enjoy a leap of faith like Apple products. Tesla is cool, stylish, innovative. At least that's what our readers say. So outclass the Americans in the category electric drive the certainly not weakening competitor BMW by almost 40 percentage points. Almost as cemented is the opinion on hybrid and plug-in hybrid. Toyota (and their noble daughter Lexus) have everything under control here. The image of Japanese cleanmen is inviolable. Only Hyundai can still follow reasonably. Consequently, Tesla and Toyota also greet the general topic of "alternative drives" from the top. With such a clean image, it goes peacefully into the future.
